Big Changes
Things moved quickly these last couple weeks.
The last few windows arrived and were installed.
The front door and interior doors were delivered. The interior doors are knotty Alder and will be lightly stained.
The front door has beautiful dental moulding.
drywall has been primed,
and interior & exterior paint colors are being finalized. Pretty much the same interior colors we have now.
Exterior trim will be painted to match the window frames and the Hardie Siding will be painted a soft green.
Garage doors have been installed.
Interior trim should start this week. Cabinets should also arrive soon.

I'm really going to enjoy the two side windows that open. Jeff isn't a fan of screen doors so these will allow air flow. Although the front of the house faces North, the windows above will let in light.

It's been a few weeks and the drywall has been hung, taped & sanded. Trim and paint will come next. I made a video tour of the place but can't get them to post. Besides it's very quarters and just looks like a lot of drywall close up, haha!
The Hardie Plank Siding is going up.

We are pretty set on a shade of green (NOT the green you see here) with dark brown trim to compliment the brown window frames. I'd post the colors here but the online colors don't look anything like the colors we have chosen.
I think have made our exterior stone choice......(less grout/mortar).
Floor tile.....

And Hardwood floors......(Hickory 6" plank)
We don't plan to do a lot of landscaping. Matter of fact Jeff doesn't even want to have any grass. We'd like a very rustic 'house in the woods' landscape. My plan is to try and have as many native trees & shrubs as possible to reduce the need for spraying, fertilizing or trimming. We plan to replace the poplars and maples that had to be removed due to lightning strike damage (we've installed lightning protection on the house) and placement of the house. I'd like to add a couple flowering trees for Spring color to start.
It's coming along! Completion date should be sometime end of May early June :)

Spray Foam, Expanding Insulation
Insulation was completed last week. Drywall will begin this week.
ELPH tells me it's about 90 days after drywall that we should be able to move furniture in.
This is a view from the foyer into the kitchen, through the living room around to the front door.

Ready for Inspection
This view is standing in the kitchen looking towards living room/back of the house.
From the sliders towards the kitchen & living room. The power in the floor in the kitchen is where a big eating island will be with the cook-top. The Oven/Microwave, dishwasher, sink and refrigerator will be along the wall.
From the picture window looking at the fireplace and foyer/front door. TV and bookcases will be on the wall to the left of the fireplace. The room to the far left with the window sitting on the floor is the Master Bedroom.
So, the HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing rough-ins are complete. And as you can see the Shingles are on. County Inspection should be this week Friday.
Next up Insulation & Sheetrock!

Roof! Roof! Roof!
Things are coming along very well. The framers are 99.9% complete and the plumber has started. Electrician will start in about a week.
The following video was taken while standing in the living room, panning from the deck, through the kitchen area, out the front door, past the corner fireplace, through the master bedroom wall, out to the view.

More Framing
It stopped raining this morning so we went to a late breakfast with friends and then checked on the framing progress. We were very pleased to see roof rafters!

Main Floor Complete
Framing is coming along nicely! We are VERY pleased with Cobblestone Builders, the foreman Matt and all the subs that have worked on the house so far.
It's very windy here at (800 feet above sea level) on the lake today. I can imagine that up on the mountain (2,000 feet) it is treacherous.

Concrete Complete
They poured the basement floor on the 22nd.
We ordered a colored concrete for the garage floor. That was poured the following Friday. Then they put the lot on final grade.
Wood should be delivered by the end of the week!
